No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
JPG for photographs, PNG for graphics and transparency, WebP when you want the smallest file and the destination supports it.
Converting to JPG or WebP at less than full quality is lossy. PNG output is lossless, though it cannot recover detail already lost.

About Image Converter

Each image format is a trade between size, quality and compatibility. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, JPG is small and universal for photographs, and WebP is usually smaller than both at similar quality.

Converting between them is simple, but the direction matters. Going from a lossy format to PNG does not restore detail that was already lost; it only makes the file larger. Going from PNG to JPG fills any transparent area with a solid colour, which you can choose here.

Tips and limits

  • Use JPG for photographs and PNG for screenshots and logos.
  • JPG has no transparency, so pick the background colour deliberately.
  • Converting a JPG to PNG does not improve quality.
