The text, headings, lists, tables and pictures are read and laid out on A4 pages in your browser.

  3. Check the result

A preview of the PDF appears. Compare it with your original for page breaks, headers and columns, which are not carried over.

  4. Download

FAQ

No. The text, headings, lists, tables and pictures are reproduced, but Word’s page layout is not: page breaks, headers and footers, text boxes, columns, and exact fonts and spacing are not carried over. For a pixel-exact copy, use Word’s own Save as PDF.
No, only .docx. Open an old .doc in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
No. The file is read and the PDF built in your browser.
Hebrew and Cyrillic text is drawn, but right-to-left text is not reordered and Arabic is not shaped, so such documents may look wrong.
No. Text uses a standard font, or a bundled one for Cyrillic and Hebrew. Bold, italic and headings are kept.

About Word to PDF

A .docx file stores content and styling, not finished pages. Word works out the line breaks and page breaks at display time. Rebuilding that exactly needs Word’s own layout engine.

This tool reads the document with a parser, turns it into headings, paragraphs, lists, tables and images, and lays those out on A4 pages itself. The result has real, selectable text and a small file size, and no part of the document leaves your browser.

What it does not do is copy Word’s layout. Page breaks, headers and footers, text boxes, columns, and exact fonts and spacing are not carried over. For a pixel-exact copy, use Save as PDF inside Word.

Tips and limits

  • Open the PDF and compare tables and pictures with the original.
  • GIF, SVG and EMF pictures cannot be embedded and are left out; the tool tells you how many.
  • Excel and PowerPoint files are not supported.
  • Need pixel-exact output? Use Save as PDF in Word.
