How to use Print Labels
Choose the label layout
Match the sheet you are printing on — the grid must line up with the physical labels.
Add your content
Enter one line of label text and, if you want a code on the label, the QR data. Both fill every label on the sheet identically — there is no list to import.
Print a test on plain paper
Hold it against a label sheet to check alignment before using a real one.
Print
Disable any "fit to page" or "scale to fit" option — scaling ruins label alignment.
When to use Print Labels
- Printing a sheet of identical return-address labels
- Making a sheet of identical asset tags pointing at one URL
- Labelling storage boxes or files
- Producing name badges for an event

About Print Labels
Label printing fails in one predictable way: everything is shifted by a few millimetres and the whole sheet is wasted. The cause is almost always the print dialog scaling the page. "Fit to page", "shrink oversized pages" and similar options resize the layout by a percent or two, which is invisible on screen and fatal on a label sheet.
Always print a test on plain paper first and hold it up against a real sheet with a light behind it. Thirty seconds of checking saves a sheet of labels, and label sheets are expensive enough that the habit pays for itself immediately.
Leave margin inside each label. Printers are not perfectly registered, and content placed right up to the edge of a label will clip on some of them even when the alignment is broadly correct. A couple of millimetres of breathing room absorbs that variation.
Tips and limits
- Turn off "fit to page" and any scaling. This is the number one cause of misaligned labels.
- Test on plain paper and hold it against a real sheet before printing.
- Leave 2-3 mm margin inside each label to absorb printer registration variance.
- Feed label sheets one at a time; stacked sheets can skew.
- Print at 100% scale and actual size, every time.
