About Crop PDF
A PDF page has several boxes. Cropping here sets the CropBox, which is the area a viewer displays and a printer prints. The rest of the page is not erased.
That has a consequence worth knowing: the trimmed content is still in the file, and anyone with a PDF editor can extend the box and see it. If you need to remove something, use Edit PDF to black it out.
Margins are measured from the page as shown, so a page rotated in the file is cropped from the edges you actually see.
Tips and limits
- Crop a little less than you think, then adjust. The tool does not show a live crop box.
- 36 points is half an inch.
- Use percent when pages differ in size.
- Never rely on cropping to hide confidential information.
